eerily so! None of other candidates, while offering very good image quality (none of them were BAD - just different), were as close to each other as ACDSee and C1 were. I felt the end results between the two were almost identical. Regarding the differences between C1 and ACDSee Pro, I tested the two at roughly the same time when I was looking to move away from Lightroom. The advent of the workflow tools like ACDSee Pro, Lightroom and CaptureOne has really reduced the value of the bit mapped editor. ACDsee has much more local adjustments than C1 Pro, for a RAW converter, is has a LOT, as you would know. I prefer C1 Pro, though ACDsee Pro is very good. I also use these as 'End editors' to my RAW converters, C1 Pro and ACDsee Pro 7. I have PSP X6, use it as a back up to PS6 (got it cheap, wanted to get used to something other than Adobe, for when PS6 no longer works on my Op system).īut PSP X6 is excellent, not sure what else they can add that would make me spend more money, especially as a backup editor.

I downloaded the Trial of PSP X7 Ultimate but only got X7 - no Ultimate, but I think that's the way it worked with PSP X6 Trials also. Yes, the edit tab is not as full-featured in ACDsee Pro 7.

So I'm not sure what an upgrade to PSP would buy me since it is a lightly used part of my digital darkroom. Well I use PSP as a companion editor to ACDSee Pro 7 for those things that the ACDSee edit tab just cant do. It will have to strut some great stuff to pull me away from ACDsee Pro 7. I'm in the U.S., so don't know if that makes any difference it shouldn't. I clicked on the link the price was $49.99 for an upgrade.
